1st Year Art Work

Unit of learning: Based on the concept of 'A Representation of Themselves or Another Through Objects Alone.' Students select a person on whom to base their project, and students carefully select objects to represent the characteristics or qualities that they associate with this person. This unit of learning was conducted with first years using oil pastels, this unit of learning is versatile and can easily be adapted to suit other year groups and different media.

 This unit of learning focuses on formative assessment: including self, peer, and teacher assessment strategies. Therefore, enabling students to bridge the gap between where students are in their learning and where they want to be, in developing a strong concept and aesthetic.
